Subject: Satori performs an illegal operation whilst processing large resolution bitmaps
Date: 9th November 1999
Whilst trying to render a large resolution canvas as a bitmap (eg a two layer canvas 6000 x 9000 pixels) a Satori error message appears reporting that:

This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down

This error may also occur when converting large bitmaps to RIR format.

Please note that this fault does not occur under Windows NT or with any Satori release prior to ver 3 running under Windows 95, 98 or NT.

This faults has been rectified in the form of a patch update (FilmFX320p.exe) for Satori FilmFX v3.20.

Important - Satori FilmFX v3.20 must be installed on your system before installing the patch update.

The FilmFX320p.exe patch update can be downloaded from here

  1. Make sure that Satori FilmFX v3.20 is installed on your system.
  2. Make sure that Satori FilmFX v3.20 and any other applications are not running.
  3. Double click on the downloaded FilmFX320p.exe patch update. It will then self extract and replace the file glcwind.dll in the default Satori FilmFX version 3.20 folder (c:\program files\satori filmfx v3.20).
