40+ new & improved features are introduced in 3.0 and include: real-time gradient (radial, linear, rectangular) designer tools with powerful vector transparency for "lighting style" effects and streamlined GUI interface (http://www.satoripaint.com/v30GUI.htm) with more compact tabbed palettes and improved slider controls.

Powerful real-time paint and drawing now enhanced with new controls for natural brush stroke simulation (brush size responds to stylus pressure) and introduction of world’s first resolution independent ‘Movie Brush’ styles including support for the new Wacom Intuos graphics (eraser enabled) tablet range. A number of sample ‘Movie Brush’ styles will ship with 3.0 but like all Satori brushes are fully user customizable. Sample brushes include leaves, dice and pool balls.

Animation sequences can be very simply set up and rendered for use on the internet or video. A new 'Animate' facility helps place effects onto specific frames and optimization tools, rollover wizards, picture slicing and the ability to save HTML script directly out of Satori makes creating web graphics easier than ever.

With new 'Movie' brushing, you can actually paint with a sequence of image files, creating a movie with one brush stroke! These new brush algorithms also help to create textured backgrounds, add foliage to trees, clouds to a sky, etc. just by brushing with sequential files.

It is also possible to adjust the output compression of your .gif, .jpg, .png & .bmp files with real-time previews within the Web Optimizer. This kind of functionality is invaluable to web designers/ publishers, as you can easily reach the balance between image quality and filesize.

Overlaying video effects has been made alot easier with multi-platform compatible alpha channels to which glows, bevels and other special effects can be added.

Snowy.GIF (53095 bytes) All effects can now be static or animated and the industry standard tools such as Blue screen masking, Random Masking, Text overlay and compositing can be used in any combinations needed.
Button.gif (40284 bytes) Creating web graphics is the forte of WebFX 2000 (tools also included in FilmFX). Whether it's Rollover graphics with associated HTML script, Image slicing, Optimizing or progressively loading image files, Satori guides you through every problem, usually with a useful 'Wizard' giving step-by-step instructions to help to get the task done quicker.
  • Web-graphics Extensions - Satori FilmFX & Satori FilmFX64 include the full range of Satori WebFX 2000 web-graphics design, editing, optimisation and export features - see product selection and Satori WebFX 2000 features.
  • Movie Brush’ Styles - Movie clips, single images or image sequence can be used as a source (random & loop options) for the shape, color and /or texture of a real-time movie brush. Satori objects can also be freely used to create or edit source movie files to provide resolution independent ‘pixel-free’ results at any resolution.
  • Brush Size Modifier - Stylus pressure can be set to interactively modify the brush size in real-time. All brushes (incl movie brushes) support size vs pressure and other brush modifiers.
  • Color Correction / Levels (Auto-levels) - Powerful object-based color correction / enhancement controls now feature advanced levels and auto-levels adjustment for correction of image brightness, contrast and midtones with optional histogram display.
  • Photo-Stitch Wizard - Creates a canvas with user defined number of equally sized tiles (optional image tile feathering). Select desired images (any size or aspect) for wizard to automatically import/scale and process to produce a seamless panorama or image montage.
  • Wizards - Beginner, intermediate & expert modes have been introduced to help new users quickly access advanced object-editing features. Photostitch, Onion skinning and Java rollovers are first wizards to ship with Satori 3.0.
  • Object-Editing - On-screen picking for selecting objects for editing. New preview modes provide full, partial or no screen update for real-time previews.
  • Gradient Designer - New controls for applying gradients using Satori shape objects. Gradient shading is displayed in real-time during editing of linear, radial and box color shading styles.
  • Brush Record / Playback - Real-time bush record and playback (useful for ‘sign on’ style animations) animation also supports use of movie brushes for on-line effects.
  • AVI / GIF Movie Support - Import (layer loading and image mapping) and export using AVI (real-time AVI player included) & GIF movie files.
Rotoscoping (AVI / GIF) & Onion Skinning: Rotoscope (VTR style) using AVI/GIF movie or any support file formats with optional powerful Onion Skinning mode and new Animate mode.
  • Animate Mode - All brushes and geometric shapes are now animatable. Rotoscope (or batch process) using new Animate control to enable single frame or multiple-frame operation. Animate mode allows objects / effects to be applied to one or more frames.
  • Canvas Rotoscoping / Batch Processing - All operations (including rotoscoping) are contained within a single canvas project file for later re-editing. You can work efficiently using desired image detail/resolution and save a single canvas for final processing at the same or any new resolution at first generation quality. Save options now include exporting individual layers as separate files.
  • Filters / Customizable CanvasFX Filters - More editable ‘lens style’ object-based filters (optional vector transparency) include: magnifying glass, twirl and posterize. Auto-drop shadow now optional for imported 32 bit images. More customizable CanvasFX filters are also available for free download.
  • High Resolution Printing and Scanning - Output options have been improved with high resolution printing now featuring draft, high quality, crop and fit to paper options. Import options include support for digital cameras and scanners with auto-detect and convert utility for large files.
  • Autosave / Canvas Information - Information display provides extended canvas information (includes details of all referenced files). Autosave now displays diagnostic information during restore.
